While Arkansas' residential real estate market hasn't been hit as hard as other markets around the country, 2008 was a tricky year for home sales. This week in Arkansas Business, they conducted their annual survey of the state's upscale real estate market, along side our yearly round-up of the state's biggest real estate agencies, ranked by 2008 sales.

What did they find?

The biggest residential real estate agencies in Arkansas got bigger, even in a year that marked the end of a home sales boom. Crye-Leike realtors pushed its 2008 sales volume in the state to $900 million, up from $837 million, to put it number one on the list. And among the top 10, only Keller Williams Realty of Little Rock, at number seven, joined Crye-Leike in reporting sales gains in 2008. The firm had nearly $141 milli...

The biggest of residential real estate agencies in Arkansas got bigger in a year that marked an end of a home sales boom. Crye-Leike Realtors pushed its 2008 sales volume in the state to $900 million (up from $837 million in 2007) as it remained No. 1.

Among the top 10, only Keller Williams Realty of Little Rock joined Memphis-based Crye-Leike in reporting sales gains in 2008. The firm moved from No. 11 and $128.2 million in 2007 to No. 7 and nearly $141 million.

Accompanying the sales slowdown were consolidations and closings. Six of the 40 largest firms joined forces through mergers.

The biggest during the past 12 months was the late December 2008 sale of Coldwell Banker Advantage Realty to Rector Phillips Morse.

At its peak, Coldwell Banker Advantage Realty ranke...

FAIRVIEW, TN., - Location, location, location is the mantra for the success of all things business and real estate.  And it appears the City of Fairview was recently "The Location" for the latest project by Award Winning Nashville filmmaker Elvis Wilson.  He and his production crew were recently there at work on a new short film - and Elvis enlisted Crye-Leike's Teresa Lampley to help him scout locations for the shoot.

"I was fortunate to meet Elvis Wilson along with some of his cast and crew - and spend some time with him in his element," said Teresa.  "It was very exciting to play a small part in his endeavor."

Teresa says the filmmaker wanted to produce his next short film "Don't Wake The Baby" on location in Middle Tennessee.  She says Elvis enlisted her help to find just the right properties and settings as the backdrop for his vision a...

Debbie Hosier from the NWA region is the lucky winner.  Her name was drawn from approximately 150 entries and she recently stopped by the Crye-Leike Rogers office to claim a collection of Harley merchandise.  The winnings included: a Harley Davidson clock, two beer mugs and a metal Harley sign.  Debbie was among an estimated 200 people who dropped-by at the Crye-Leike Rogers booth during the annual H.O.G. Rally held in Rogers May 28 - 30.

Riders turned out from across the region and the county to attend this year's event.

The Rally was staged at the new Embassy Suites and John Q. Hammons Event Center in Rogers - and featured world class motorcycling, entertainment, carousing and dining. Crye-Leike Rogers agents were thrilled to participate and plan to stay in touch with many of those who stopped to visit and register to win.
