BRENTWOOD, TN.- Crye-Leike, Auctions Broker Terry Posey is preparing for one of his biggest auctions to date? and possibly the oldest property he's had the opportunity to sell to the highest bidder.

"It is a unique property," said Posey, referring to the 34-thousand square foot Old Mayfield Elementary School that goes on the auction block the first of next month.  "We mostly sell houses, farms and land so an entire school is unusual, but there isn't much difference in the general way we market the property and conduct our auction."

Last month the Cleveland City Schools Board of Education signed an agreement with Crye-Leike Auctions to sell the 79-year-old school.  Auctioneer Terry Posey along with Tony Young have agreed to sell it at no charge.

"It's a desirable approach for the school system to take the property to auction as opposed to the usual route of listing it and waiting for offers," said P...

BRENTWOOD, TN.- A group of Crye-Leike, Realtors agents in the Cleveland Tennessee office participated in a food drive to benefit the Salvation Army Food Bank.  In the month of September the Cleveland Crye-Leike Office held a food drive to help fill the shelves of our local Salvation Army Store's Pantry.

"Two years ago, Crye-Leike's Cleveland Branch Office was made aware of the fact that the majority of the donations made to the Salvation Army Store were clothing and household items, said Jo Organ, Managing Broker of the Cleveland Crye-Leike, Realtors office.  "Unfortunately, the public is not completely aware of the many services that this organization provides and their need for good, non-perishable food items."

The Salvation Army has stores nationwide that in addition to selling donated items, they provide assistance to qualified needy families.  As part of the Salvation Army's services for those who have been touched by tr...

BRENTWOOD, TN.- Crye-Leike, Realtors agents in the company's Hermitage, Tennessee office are betting there are plenty of old cell phones tucked-away around your home or office - that you'd love to put to good use.

You're in luck.  Crye-Leike in Hermitage has teamed up with Action Nissan of Nashville and the Daily's Market in Hermitage to put those unwanted, used or broken cell phones to good use.

"Each donated cell phone we collect during our campaign can help us raise much needed dollars for United Way agencies in our community," said Bobby Hill, Managing Broker for Crye-Leike, Realtors in Hermitage.  "An old phone should not be damaged beyond normal wear, must power up and make a test call in order for it to be refurbished and benefit United Way."

BRENTWOOD, TN.- Dressed in her hoop skirt and other period clothing, Crye-Leike, Realtors Affiliate Broker Heather Karl fit right into the scenery during September's 21st Annual "Heritage Days Celebration" at the Sam Davis Home in Smyrna Tennessee.

"The tradition featured demonstrators of all walks and trades portraying life on a mid-nineteenth century farm," said Karl.  "I've been a volunteer and sponsor at the home for the past year, and last month sponsored three days of breakfast and coffee for the volunteers who bring history to life during Heritage Days."

Karl is an Affiliate Broker in Crye-Leike, Realtor's Smyrna branch office.  She's been with the company since 2006 and had previously worked on the lending side of real estate as a Mortgage Broker in Florida.

Karl works with both buyers and sellers in and around Rutherford and Davidson counties, specializing in residential, first-time homebuyers, relocation and new construction.
